Register with Ferrari – in English or Arabic

Mubadala Motor Sport
Proud Sponsor of Ferrari

A brand like Ferrari requires nothing short of a slick, first-class mobile site, and that’s exactly what this Ferrari sponsor has created. Launched to coincide with the Grand Prix, Mubadala, a part owner in Ferrari, launched his mobile site in both English and Arabic.

Cool features on both mobile sites include:

  • Clickable images to send visitors directly to other pages of the mobile site
  • Contest registration form (Win a Trip to Melbourne for the 2010 Formula 1™ Gran Prix!)
  • Driver profiles with images
  • Great up-close views and descriptions of parts of the vehicle (Okay, this has more to do with the actual car than the mobile site, but it’s still worth mentioning.)

MoFuse sites are UTF8 based, so all languages and characters display well on the mobile site, however Arabic reads from right to left. To get around this, they simply right-aligned the Arabic text using the editor, and then created some custom CSS to right-align the title bars and page headings where the editor was not available.

Providing Sales Information Around the Clock

Lamar Smith Signature Homes
Mobile Sites That Sell Homes
Mobile Site: http://ricecreek.bxs.mobi

Street Sign Promoting the Rice Creek Mobile Site

Lamar Smith Signature Homes, one of coastal Georgia’s premier home builders and developers, found the answer by integrating their physical signage with mobile sites.

Before building their MoFuse site, Lamar Smith posted sales information on wooden signs.  Now, they use the wooden signs outside of homes and developments to post their mobile URL.  The program is so successful they are also now considering other traditional tools, such as billboards and print ads, to promote their mobile sites.

Benefits of going mobile for this cutting-edge home builder:

  • When most people are looking for homes on the weekend evenings or after work, the sales office may be closed, but the mobile site is always open.
  • People get immediate gratification, no need to write down house addresses for look up later on the desktop web.
  • The mobile site includes extensive information, such as floor plans, photos, and amenities that wasn’t possible on the outdoor signage.
  • MoFuse allows for easy, just-in-time information, such as changes in pricing or special events.

Connecting with Riders on the Go

RAGBRAI XXXVII
July 19 – 25
Mobile Site: http://m.ragbrai.com

RAGBRAI®, which stands for The  Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, is an annual seven-day bicycle ride across the state.  Sponsored by the Des Moines Register, RAGBRAI is the longest, largest and oldest touring bicycle ride in the world.

Headed into its 37th year, in July of 2009, The Register launched a mobile component that included several cool features for both event bikers and bystanders to enjoy.

With 10,000 riders cruising across the state (with their phones in tow), m.ragbrai.com was their source for important announcementsinfo on overnight towns, and route maps.

The site also includes a dynamic photo gallery. Bikers and bystanders were able to take photos during the event with their phones. They then sent the photos from their phones to the DesMoines Register where they were put into an RSS feed which fed them back to the mobile site. (Click to “Latest RAGBRAI photos” to see shots taken by bikers during the trip!)

Making Mobile Pay Off

KCRG-TV9
Your 24 Hour News Source
Mobile Site: http://m.kcrg.com

The pictures speak for themselves: ABC affiliate, KCRG-TV9 in Cedar Rapids Iowa built out a much improved brand experience for their mobile audience than their standard desktop site provided on mobile.

In addition to building out a good-looking and sophisticated mobile site that includes live imaging for Doppler weather, the KCRG-TV9 team put their site to work for them by selling local sponsorships.

Using a 3rd party mobile ad server, they are able to serve sponsor banner ads to the very top of their mobile site. But their sponsorship didn’t just end there – KCRG-TV9 used the remaining sites in their plan to build campaign landing pages for those ads.  Using the remaining sites in their plan, KCRG was also able to build out some nice mobile sites for local businesses that were interested in mobile, but perhaps not quite ready to build their own mobile sites.

KCRG-TV9 also included the sponsor’s RSS feed on their site – yet another creative way to add value not just for their sponsor, but for their own mobile site as well. Using the Custom CSS tool, they changed the color of the sponsor’s feed so that it would “pop” on the main page.
